Bulk--Black Bean Brownie Mix Recipe

Note: We recommend a scale to measure out your flour (most accurate). If measuring without a scale, use stackable measuring cups, do not use a liquid measuring cup for dry ingredients.

Yield:  (1) 9 x 13 in. pan


  • 14 ounces Black Bean Brownie Mix from Anna (3 cups)
  • 1 15oz. can of black beans, well rinsed and drained
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • ⅔ cup milk or favorite non-dairy drink, including water
  • 1 jumbo egg (optional)
  • ⅓ cup oil
  • ½ to 1 cup chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9 x 13in pan.
  2. In a food processor, pulse beans, liquid, egg, oil and vanilla until coarsely pureed
  3. By hand, blend wet ingredients with Black Bean Brownie mix from Anna
  4. Spoon batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes

Tips and variations:

  • If avoiding eggs, leave the egg out altogether
  • Using a smaller pan will render a more cake-like brownie
