About Our Ingredients and Pricing
There are many gluten-free breads on the market, but not all gluten-free breads are the same. What distinguishes Breads from Anna products from other gluten-free breads? Simple, unsurpassed quality in nutrition, taste, and texture.
We use only the highest quality gluten-free ingredients available and use no refined sugars, no rice flours, no fillers, no additives, no preservatives. For example many of our ingredients such as Montina®, our bean flours, and our sweeteners (maple and honey) are from two- to thirteen times more expensive than the ingredients used in most gluten-free products.
Because of our costly ingredients, our price margins are nowhere near that of our competitor’s. If people are looking for the cheapest breads possible, then there is no way we can compete. Our gourmet breads are artesian quality, which are the finest that can be made.
Compare Nutritional Value
Many of the most commonly used gluten-free ingredients have almost no nutritional value. For example, white rice flour is the nutritional equivalent of white bread — because it quickly breaks down to a simple starch creating unsteady fluctuations in blood-sugar levels. Along with me, my sister Rosie, as well as her children, are celiac and eat Breads from Anna products everyday. We would never sacrifice nutrition for cost.
The taste speaks for itself… People most commonly remark that our breads “Do not taste like cardboard,” “Do not have the sandy and gritty texture of other gluten-free breads” and “Taste like regular bread.” People often tell us that they were overjoyed when they ate our bread because they have not had healthy, good-tasting, gluten-free bread in all the years they’ve been celiac. Many had painfully just given up on bread. Taste does not lie; trust your own experience.
All of our products are packaged in a gluten-free facility. I personally, go through a rigorous process of tracking the processing of all ingredients to ensure that they are fresh and free of the allergens that our customers are allergic to.
At Breads from Anna, we take great pride in offering breads that are a healthy option for all of the many people that need a gluten-free diet. Many of our celiac customers have family members who prefer our breads over wheat breads but do not require a gluten-free diet. Furthermore, at Breads from Anna we want each customer to know that they received a superior product for their money. Many of our customers tell us that if they had to source all of our ingredients, many of which would have to be special ordered, they could never do it for the price we ask. I ponder long and hard before introducing a new product and always consider if it will be too expensive to manufacture and sell. We will never produce a product that does not meet our high nutritional standards and our desire for delicious food. Above all, I want every customer to feel that they are not making any sacrifice when it comes to the indescribable pleasure of eating delicious, healthy bread.
At Breads from Anna we respect each customer and the gluten-free journey they are on.
Saving Money with Breads from Anna
Like everyone in American, at Breads from Anna, we are acutely aware of the financial difficulties of this time. Hardly a week goes without something going up in cost — our ingredients, bags, boxes, shipping, labels, insurance, etc. We know that this is something that all of you are experiencing as well, and it greatly concerns us.
After much deliberation, we have decided to offer our customers a way to save money without sacrificing the quality that defines our breads. A great deal of our costs involves the weighing, packaging, and labeling of our mixes. We have discovered that we can lower the unit price of all our mixes by selling bulk packages. Instead of having each unit premeasured and individually packaged, we have found that a substantial amount can be saved by having the customer easily measure out the proper amount for a loaf. This can be done by using a scale or stackable (dry volume) measuring cups. The 25 lb. bulk bags enough for 18 to 28 loafs, again depending on the particular mix. If this seems too much we encourage you to go in on a bulk order with a friend or divide it up at a support group meeting.
Buying the 25 lb. bulk will save you approximately 25%. This does not include the amount you will save by avoiding multiple shipments.
In this economic environment, this is a rare bit of good news. I am especially pleased when I can save customers some money—not to mention, it is green!
Sincerely,
Anna Sobaski, Founder of Breads From Anna
